For nearly a year, I've been saying that I planned on listening to M.T. Anderson's The Astonishing Life of Octavia Nothing: Traitor to the Nation: Volume 1, Pox Party once I realized that I would not get through all of Anderson's book due to the 3 other books that I was reading simultaneously. (That seems to be my method of reading, how about you?) When I finally reserved an audio copy of Octavia Nothing and started listening to it, boy was I in auditory heaven. Peter Francis James is absolutely wonderful! I'm tempted to listen to any book where he lends his incredible voice but, alas I see that his recordings are numerous. I would probably end up listening to 3 audio books at once. *smile* However, this time I'll try to restrain myself with audio books. All the same, I'm curious. Are there any of you who have a favorite children's or young adult narrator? Or if not a favorite narrator, would anyone care to share their list of 'books-I-must-listen-to-on-cd'?

I am a BIG fan of full cast audio books. It's like a play in your head! They've done Goose Girl and Princess Academy by Shannon Hale and I've decided I like her books better on audio than reading them myself. :) Other favorite full cast audio books include _What I Call Life_ by Jill Wolfson and _The Girls_ by Amy Goldman Koss.
Other audio books I also really liked...
Feed by M.T. Anderson, Coraline by (and read by) Neil Gaiman (so creepy!) and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
Can you tell I used to commute?
Right now I'm listening to _Al Capone does my Shirts_ and so far it's great.

You know I haven't even listened to a full cast audio book. That's got to be fun! Thanks for the recommended 'listening' list. Many of the audio books that I have listened to are of one narrator and I am simply amazed that even he/she can come up with such distinct voices at times. There are times where I forget that it's just one person.
I absolutely love the Lightning Thief Series by Rick Riordan--narrator Jesse Bernstein. The opening line alone keeps you fully engaged from beginning to end. And in my opinion, this is a perfect book for a reluctant reader--ESPECIALLY for a boy.
